Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station unveils its new main concourse

COMSA Corporación, in a joint venture with Vías y Construcciones, Grupo Azvi and SANJOSE Constructora, has taken part in the works led by Adif to expand the capacity of Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station, improve passenger flow and strengthen its strategic role within the rail network.

The new main concourse features 18,000 m² of communal areas and spaces for passengers, and forms part of a transformation that has doubled the station’s high-speed tracks, increasing them from 6 to 12, with departures in both directions.

The project has also included the construction of new tracks and platforms, the refurbishment of commuter rail tracks and platforms, improved accessibility, enhanced intermodality, and the optimisation of access points and internal routes.

The works were carried out whilst keeping the station in operation during the various construction phases, in an environment of high technical and operational complexity.
With this project, COMSA Corporación continues to contribute to the development of key rail infrastructure for more efficient, connected and sustainable mobility.
