The project for the new Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital in Lleida has been awarded the Albert Vilalta Prize for the best infrastructure commissioned in 2025 in Catalonia, as part of the 10th Infrastructure Night, organised by the Catalonia Infrastructure Advisory Council.
The award recognises projects with a significant impact on the region, which contribute to sustainability and the improvement of public services. In this regard, the award highlights a strategic healthcare facility for Lleida and for the Catalan Health System as a whole, aimed at strengthening healthcare capacity, improving care spaces and responding to the current and future needs of the public.
The construction of the new hospital was completed in just a third of the time that a traditional build would have required, a fact that demonstrates the efficiency, planning and innovation incorporated into the project’s development.
COMSA Corporación has participated in the execution of the works through a joint venture formed with DOMINION GLOBAL, with CatSalut as the project developer. The design team and project management were comprised of SPG arquitectura, Med Architects, JSS Efficient Engineering and QS Enginyeria i Associats SLP.
This recognition underscores the value of collaboration between public authorities, technical teams and specialist firms in developing public infrastructure that serves the public.
