Last week saw the inauguration of the extension of the port of Santoña, in Cantabria, a key project carried out by COMSA in a joint venture with Cuevas Gestión De Obras.
The works have focused on the refurbishment and adaptation of the west side of the port docks and will allow:
- Increase the berthing capacity for ships (up to 50 vessels).
- Improve working conditions and safety for fishermen.
- Reduce waiting times and speed up the unloading of catches at the fish market.
With this extension, the Port of Santoña has 478 metres of mooring line, consolidating itself as a more efficient, modern and safe port.
This new infrastructure is a fundamental pillar for the economic future of the region, the fishing sector and port development.
