On 27 December COMSA handed over to Adif the project for the complete renovation of the Monforte de Lemos – Lugo railway section, executed by the company. With a length of 71 km, this intervention improves reliability, comfort and travel times in the corridor of Galicia.<\/p>\n
The works have included the complete replacement of sleepers with polyvalent concrete models; the installation of UIC-60 type rail and aluminothermic welding to improve the continuity of the track; the renewal of the ballast, guaranteeing greater stability and drainage of the infrastructure; the adaptation and reinforcement of the railway platform to support greater loads and increase durability; interventions on drainage elements and embankments to prevent possible geotechnical incidents; and the improvement of safety conditions through the adaptation of level crossings, as well as the incorporation of advanced signalling systems.<\/p>\n
The stations of Lugo, Monforte de Lemos, Rubial, Oural, Sarria, Laxosa, as well as 46 turnouts and 2 crossings have also been renovated.<\/p>\n
