The new infrastructure is located between the north and south pontoons of es Botafoc and is separated by 30 metres from the sea.<\/p>\n<p>The new building, which can simultaneously serve up to six ships, has a floor area of 6,580 metres, comprising the middle floor, where the offices are located, and two floors: on the one hand, the ground floor houses the pre-boarding services and security controls, while the upper level is a walkable deck that serves to access the boarding gangways.<\/p>\n<p>Among its characteristics are the building&#8217;s integration into the surrounding landscape, which has been achieved through a design with heights that do not exceed the access bridges to the ships, and the finishes with materials from the island. Environmental aspects have also been taken into account, such as the vegetation cover or the use of hydrothermal energy with pipes to the sea that serve to cool the air conditioning equipment.<\/p>\n<p>The inauguration ceremony was attended by the president of the Balearic Islands Port Authority (APB), Jaume Colom; the director of the APB, Jorge Nasarre; the president of the Consell d&#8217;Eivissa, Vicent Mar\u00ed; and the president of the Asociaci\u00f3n Patronal de Empresarios de Actividades Mar\u00edtimas (APEAM), Santiago Mayol, among other authorities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today the maritime station of es Botafoc in Ibiza has been inaugurated, a project executed by COMSA and MAB.
