Likewise, it will also be responsible for selling forest chips to the towns and other boiler owning entities of the district that register as users after the concession has begun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The boilers of CST and UAB are considered part of the &#8220;Boscos del Vall\u00e8s\u201d project promoted by the <a title=\"County Council of Vall\u00e8s Occidental\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ccvoc.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">County Council of Vall\u00e8s Occidental<\/a> and initiated in 2013 for the purpose of assessing and exploiting forest biomass as a fire prevention measure. Its primary objective is to reduce the risk of forest fires by promoting the purchase and sale of primary forest biomass, a locally produced market for thermal uses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another advantage of this initiative is the reduction of CO2 emissions as a measure to fight against climate change, promote renewable energy and promoting local development and job creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the 24th and the 30th of May, the Manager of the joint venture Boscos del Vall\u00e8s, Raimon Marin\u00e9, signed two contracts with the representatives of the County Councils of <a title=\"Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ccvoc.cat\/actualitat\/noticies\/2018\/05\/24\/el-valles-occidental-posa-en-marxa-la-caldera-de-biomassa-forestal-mes-gran-de-catalunya-en-una-instal-lacio-sanitaria-al-consorci-sanitari-de-terrassa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa<\/a> and <a title=\"Campus de la UAB\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ccvoc.cat\/actualitat\/noticies\/2018\/05\/30\/el-campus-de-la-uab-estrena-una-caldera-de-biomassa-que-ofereix-energia-calorifica-de-proximitat-al-servei-d-activitat-fisica-i-contribueix-en-la-prevencio-d-incendis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Campus de la UAB<\/a>, respectively.
