{"id":11777,"date":"2018-04-11T15:53:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-11T14:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comsa.com\/?p=11777"},"modified":"2021-02-05T16:40:54","modified_gmt":"2021-02-05T15:40:54","slug":"grup-peralada-awards-the-construction-of-its-new-winery-to-comsa-corporacion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comsa.com\/en\/infrastructures\/grup-peralada-awards-the-construction-of-its-new-winery-to-comsa-corporacion\/","title":{"rendered":"Grup Peralada awards the construction of its new winery to COMSA Corporaci\u00f3n"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>04\/11\/2018 &#8211;<strong>\u00a0<a title=\"Grup Peralada\" href=\"http:\/\/www.grupperalada.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grup Peralada<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0has awarded a contract to COMSA Corporaci\u00f3n to <strong>build<\/strong>, using the BIM (Building Information Modelling) method,\u00a0its\u00a0<strong>new winery <\/strong>located next to the emblematic medieval castle in the city of Peralada, in the province of Girona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a title=\"Buildings\" href=\"http:\/\/www.comsa.com\/en\/web\/comsawp\/edificacion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COMSA<\/a>, the construction company in the group, <strong>will build 18,200 square metres<\/strong> that will be mainly <strong>destined to making and processing wine.<\/strong> In this sense, the installations will be capable of receiving nearly <strong>three million kilograms of grape<\/strong> for producing <strong>two million litres of wine<\/strong> and subsequently house <strong>2.3 million bottles.<\/strong> Also, the new winery will include <strong>areas for promoting wine culture<\/strong> and sales to the end customer. The building is an <strong>architectural challenge<\/strong> since its surface area is a <strong>completely open-concept design.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new winery will incorporate the <strong>BIM model<\/strong> in its execution, a technology implemented in other COMSA construction projects such as the <strong>transformation of the Paranimf of the Industrial School of Barcelona<\/strong> into a Convention Centre and the future <strong>Barcelona Football Club&#8217;s Johan Cruyff Stadium<\/strong>, among others. This method allows creating a <strong>multi-dimensional display<\/strong> of the structure for the purpose of <strong>facilitating decision making and reducing costs.<\/strong> In this regard, during the construction phase of the new winery, BIM will guarantee the <strong>works are coordinated<\/strong> through a detailed planning of the different phases and an analysis of possible incidents and alternatives; it will facilitate the <strong>monitoring of the construction progress<\/strong> and a <strong>control of the budget expenditure<\/strong>. Likewise, BIM will also <strong>simplify the subsequent maintenance<\/strong> on the equipment and when appropriate, the refurbishing of the structure since all the information is integrated in the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new Castell de Peralada winery will be managed by company\u00a0<a title=\"Actio Project\" href=\"http:\/\/www.actioproject.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACTIO Project<\/a> and is designed by the reputable architecture firm <a title=\"RCR\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rcrarquitectes.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RCR<\/a>, comprised of Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ram\u00f3n Vilalta. It will begin operations in the year 2020 and its intent is to be the <strong>first in Europe to receive the environmental and energy certification LEED<\/strong> (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), a prestigious international standard developed by the US Green Building Council, which certifies the sustainability and high efficiency of the design and the construction of the structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This contract is added to the extensive <em>portfolio<\/em> of singular buildings that COMSA has designed and executed in recent years. Among these we have Hotel W of Barcelona, the Gran Canaria Arena\u00a0Pavilion of Las Palmas, the <a title=\"Cultural Centre of Lugano\" href=\"http:\/\/prensa.comsa.com\/en\/comsa-inaugura-el-centro-cultural-de-lugano-suiza\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cultural Centre of Lugano<\/a> (Switzerland) and the Memory and Human Rights Museum of Santiago de Chile, etc. For the wine sector, the construction company has built the Ferrer&amp;Bobet winery, located in Falset (Tarragona) and the Wine Promotion Centre with D.O.
