05\/23\/2017 – This week sees the participation of COMSA in Construmat, the International Construction Exhibition held in Barcelona, where it will present BIMTable, a digital and portable table for the management of building projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of this technological innovation is to transfer the planning and management work that is carried out in the offices to the actual work site, facilitating direct monitoring of the day-to-day activities. To do this, it incorporates BIM (Building Information Modelling) technology, a system that allows the three-dimensional representation of the phases of construction in order to optimise project management, facilitate decision making through changing scenarios and reduce costs. The BIM methodology has already been implemented by the COMSA Corporaci\u00f3n group in different contracts, such as the execution of a pharmaceutical plant for Laboratorios Catedral in Paraguay and the construction of a 5-star hotel in Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIMTable<\/a>\u00a0allows activities ranging from the interactive and real-time visualisation of the work to the control of the quality of the concrete that is used, as well as other administrative and personnel management tasks, such as the control of delivery notes and the coordination of tasks between different teams. With regard to its specifications, it incorporates a fold-down protective cover and can be equipped with other accessories, such as augmented reality glasses, a 3D printer, drones and a 360\u00ba camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prototype, presented on 23 May at the Technical Corner<\/a>\u00a0of the Construmat<\/a>\u00a0Future Arena, will remain on display throughout the congress in the same location so that the attendees can try it out. The development will also be presented on 25 May, in the afternoon, at the European BIM Summit<\/a>, held within Construmat itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIMTable is a technological solution that is the result of the SCAVE R&D project (an immersive, interactive and mobile facility for the collaborative management of construction projects), research led by COMSA<\/a>, the company Portable Multimedia Solutions<\/a>\u00a0(PMS) and the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering<\/a>\u00a0(CIMNE) and financing by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
