On 14 May the new Sants Market, a historical building inBarcelona, was inaugurated, a comprehensive remodelling process having begun in 2009, and the last stage having been executed by COMSA<\/a>. The new market retains its modernist style and, following the refurbishment, has an area of 3,000 square metres, some fifty retail premises and a self-service area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work carried out by COMSA has been focused on extending the area of the \u200b\u200bshops and the passageways, the construction of an office area and multipurpose spaces, improving the installations of the various services, the implementation of an air conditioning system, and the installation of the facilities necessary for the use of new technologies. The company has also been responsible for the rehabilitation of the exterior of the historic building, restoring the roof and the ornamental elements of the fa\u00e7ades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barcelona City Council has invested almost ten million euros in the renovation of the market, which includes a new car park with 90 parking spaces for its customers and a new delivery service. The project was completed with the redevelopment of the streets adjoining the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
