{"id":11631,"date":"2014-03-27T13:50:14","date_gmt":"2014-03-27T12:50:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comsa.com\/?p=11631"},"modified":"2021-02-05T16:41:20","modified_gmt":"2021-02-05T15:41:20","slug":"comsa-presents-the-neoballast-project-at-a-rail-conference-in-germany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comsa.com\/en\/infrastructures\/comsa-presents-the-neoballast-project-at-a-rail-conference-in-germany\/","title":{"rendered":"COMSA presents the Neoballast project at a rail conference in Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The director of COMSA EMTE&#8217;s Technical and Innovation department, Valenti Fontser\u00e8, participated in the <a href=\"www.railtechnologyconferences.com\" rel=\"no follow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rail Technology Conferences<\/a>, rail innovation day events in D\u00fcsseldorf (Germany) from the 18th to the 20th of March which brought together various industry experts over the three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the event, Fontser\u00e8 presented the Neoballast project, an initiative led by COMSA the goal of which is to improve the properties of rail track ballast to reduce the level of degradation and lessen the level of vibration and noise from the tracks. The project is currently in the experimental phase and initial testing shows significant improvements in areas such as the extending of the useful life of the ballast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neoballast has the collaboration of the company\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mapei.com\">Mapei<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.upc.edu\" rel=\"no follow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Unversitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adif.es\" rel=\"no follow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adif<\/a> and has already been presented in Paris (France) last December during the Ballast Issues &amp; Challenges conference of the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uic.org\/\" rel=\"no follow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> International Union of Railways<\/a>.
