{"id":11617,"date":"2013-12-12T12:43:08","date_gmt":"2013-12-12T11:43:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comsa.com\/?p=11617"},"modified":"2021-02-05T16:41:22","modified_gmt":"2021-02-05T15:41:22","slug":"presentation-of-the-results-of-the-pilot-test-for-a-poplar-plantation-in-the-area-of-cuenca-de-tremp-in-lleida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comsa.com\/en\/renewable-energy\/presentation-of-the-results-of-the-pilot-test-for-a-poplar-plantation-in-the-area-of-cuenca-de-tremp-in-lleida\/","title":{"rendered":"Presentation of the results of the pilot test for a poplar plantation in the area of Cuenca de Tremp in Lleida"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On 10 December, the city of Tremp in Lleida hosted a conference on energy crops organised by the Catalonian Forest Technology Centre (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ctfc.cat\/?lang=es\" rel=\"no follow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CTFC<\/a>) in collaboration with COMSA EMTE, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ajuntamentdetremp.cat\/\" rel=\"no follow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">local Council<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www20.gencat.cat\/portal\/site\/DAR\/menuitem.da4c6c7300217fbf6f51ec10b0c0e1a0\/?vgnextoid=c1daf9e195dc5310VgnVCM1000008d0c1e0aRCRD&amp;vgnextchannel=c1daf9e195dc5310VgnVCM1000008d0c1e0aRCRD&amp;vgnextfmt=default&amp;newLang=ca_ES\" rel=\"no follow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Forestal Catalana<\/a>, a public company belonging to the Catalonian Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the event was to present the production results of the poplar plantation located on the Espona estate in the region of Pallars Juss\u00e0, a pilot initiative that began in 2010 for the purpose of studying the feasibility of using these trees for biomass generation. Three different clones of poplar have been grown on this plantation, one of which has proved viable to produce energy for biomass boilers (heat).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>COMSA EMTE has been one of the drivers behind this project. During the conference, Albert Sol\u00e9, the head of the Engineering, Technology and Generation department at COMSA EMTE Environment, gave a positive valuation of the results obtained with this crop and expressed his intention to use these results for biomass generation at the plant managed by the company in Les Borges Blanques (Lleida) together with Abantia.
