The President of the Generalitat de Catalunya highlighted &#8220;the courage of the project\u2019s investors&#8221; and referred to its &#8220;innovative character that makes it a global reference point&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plant, owned by <a title=\"Abantia\" href=\"https:\/\/abantiagroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abantia<\/a> (47.5%), COMSA EMTE (47.5%) and <a title=\"Institut Catal\u00e0 d'Energia\" href=\"http:\/\/www20.gencat.cat\/portal\/site\/icaen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Institut Catal\u00e0 d&#8217;Energia<\/a> (5%), represents an investment of 153 million euros. Termosolar Borges will provide a continuous 100% renewable energy production of 98,000,000 KWh per year, equivalent to the average consumption of 27,000 Spanish households. The production of this type of clean energy means savings of 24,500 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hybridization model allows continuous energy generation, obtained using different methods depending on the time of day, the weather and the season. The 2,688 solar collectors are automatically positioned, according to the time and season, to capture energy during daylight hours.
