These awards represent COMSA EMTE\u2019s first venture in Africa and its entry into the Mexican renewables market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The electricity utility in the Republic of Cape Verde (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.electra.cv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Electra<\/a>) has awarded EMTE a contract to expand the power grids on the islands of Santo Ant\u00e3o, Fogo, S\u00e3o Nicolau and Boavista, which together represent 20% of the country\u2019s population. The contract contemplates the construction of medium- and low-voltage power lines and the construction and enlargement of transformer stations, including the procurement and transportation of the materials to the four islands, the civil engineering work, equipment assembly and installation of power as well as the commissioning of the facilities. The project is due to be executed over a period of 15 months and will be carried out as part of a consortium with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sampol.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sampol<\/a> company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In parallel, alongside <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iberdrola.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Iberdrola<\/a>, EMTE will be carrying out electrical work on a Gamesa wind-power farm in Mexico, representing the company\u2019s first contract for the renewable energy sector in this Central American country. The facility, producing 234 MW, is located in the city of Juchit\u00e1n de Zaragoza, in Oaxaca state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company will specifically be in charge of civil engineering and electrical work for the medium-voltage collector circuits, the optical fibre, the grounding networks and the medium-voltage cells of the wind turbines.
