The prize constitutes recognition of the prevention policy for hyperbaric work implemented by the company during the construction of line 9 of the Barcelona Metro network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The jury highlighted the innovative nature of the initiative, which, for the first time in Spain, has involved carrying out tunnel boring machine maintenance tasks in hyperbaric atmospheres. The jury also valued the successful integration of the prevention policies of the various parties involved in the project (the <abbr title=\"Departament de Treball\">Catalan Government\u2019s Department of Employment<\/abbr>, the <abbr title=\"Inspecci\u00f3n de trabajo\">Industrial Relations Commission<\/abbr>, the <a title=\"Fundaci\u00f3n Laboral de la Construcci\u00f3n\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fundacionlaboral.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Construction Industry Labour Foundationand<\/a> and the construction firms) with the execution of the works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The success of the COMSA-led initiative is demonstrated by the absence of significant accidents since it was implemented in the line 9 construction works more than seven years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the sixth edition of the Atlante Awards, the jury also conferred awards on entities such as health insurance company Mutua Universal, the <abbr title=\"Asociaci\u00f3n Nuclear Asc\u00f3-Vandell\u00f2s II\">Asc\u00f3-Vandell\u00f2s II Nuclear Association<\/abbr> and the <abbr title=\"Institut Catal\u00e0 de la Salut\">Catalan Health Institute<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a title=\"Sexta edici\u00f3n de los Premios Atlante de Prevenci\u00f3n por COMSA EMTE, en Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/69167211@N03\/8222667807\/\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8350\/8222667807_981565615d.jpg\" alt=\"Sexta edici\u00f3n de los Premios Atlante de Prevenci\u00f3n\" width=\"500\" height=\"350\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COMSA has won the Jury\u2019s Special Prize in the sixth edition of the Atlante Occupational Risk Prevention Awards, organized annually by the Catalan employers\u2019 association Foment del Treball and awarded this year on 22nd November in Barcelona.
