Solar thermal hybridized with biomass
The only plant of its kind in the world
COMSA Renovables carries out the operation and maintenance of the Termosolar Borges plant as well as the supply of 85,000 t/year of biomass from the forest for its energy recovery, conducted in accordance with the international PEFC certification (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) and the SBP (Sustainable Biomass Program) certificate.
This facility is the first hybrid plant of solar thermal and biomass technologies in the world, being capable of operating 24 hours a day. It was commissioned in December 2012 and currently generates 85,000 MWh per year, which corresponds to the consumption of 33,000 households.
