COMSA Medio Ambiente delivers comprehensive municipal waste management services that include the design, construction and operation of all types of waste composting, storage, classification, transfer and treatment facilities.
The Urban Services Division delivers comprehensive municipal waste management and water management services. The management of municipal waste includes the design, construction and operation of all types of waste composting, storage, classification, transfer and treatment facilities.
These activities are carried out through four investee companies:
• ECOPARC de Barcelona has begun upgrading and remodelling work to adapt to new demands in waste management.
• GERSA (Gestión Ecológica de Residuos) collects and treats industrial and municipal waste in Chile.
• CLD is one of the main municipal and industrial waste management operators in Catalonia. Its size enables it to offer both the personalised care characteristic of a small business and the technology and resources of a large firm. CLD has specialised companies such as ATR (Asesoría y tratamiento de residuos), Hidrojet, Ambiental de Verificaciones, Tirssa and Pirinenca de Serveis.
• The Pinto Biomethanisation and Composting Plant treats municipal waste from the southern part of the Comunidad de Madrid, which it then uses to generate electricity via biomethanisation and simultaneously obtain compost from degradation of the organic material.
• Gestora de Runes de la Construcció manages the controlled dumping of construction waste by controlling recovery and separation at source.
The global water cycle management division operates through Aigües de Catalunya and includes drinking water and wastewater treatment plant management services together with sewer system and irrigation operation and maintenance services.
