GRUPO COMSA has had a presence in Poland since 2005 through Trakcja Polska, the main Polish railway construction firm.

Through this company, made up of its two subsidiaries PKRE and PKRiI, GRUPO COMSA has positioned itself as a major firm in Eastern European markets by delivering comprehensive service to the railway sector that includes line construction, maintenance, engineering, electrification and construction of traction substations for high and medium voltage. COMSA also provides railway logistics services in this market as the PRKiI subsidiary has a license to provide railway freight services.

Trakcja-Polska has been awarded the contract to upgrade the track between Warsaw and Lódz, the two main Polish cities. This is the biggest upgrading contract ever awarded by the state rail firm PLK.

COMSA has also had another company in Poland, PRK7, since October 2007. PRK7 specialises in the construction of railway superstructures (metros, tramways and railways) and in the construction of industrial and residential buildings. The bulk of PRK7’s business is concentrated in Warsaw and in the north of Poland, and its experience will also increase the regional presence of the COMSA subsidiary.
