COMSA de Chile is the subsidiary with which GRUPO COMSA has been operating in the country since 1995. Right from when it started up its business activities, COMSA de Chile has benefited from the increase in government spending on railway infrastructures.
Over the past few years, COMSA has consolidated its position in the railway construction sector in Chile with a portfolio of clients that includes state rail operator La Empresa de los Ferrocarriles del Estado (EFE). In addition it has also broken into new markets linked to concession projects.
Major projects undertaken by the firm include the finalisation of the refurbishment stage of the North Zone Project Railway Infrastructure Provision contract for EFE Chile as well as track renewal and refurbishment work in the 60 km-long Longaví-San Carlos sector on the Central Line for EFE in southern Chile. COMSA de Chile has also taken part in studies for the refurbishment and coming into service of the central trans-Andes railway between Chile and Argentina.
